So before, I proceed to experts questions answer, we all need to know about the Link Building or outbound links.

Right!!

What is link Building?

Link building is an important element of SEO which defines how your website gets ranked by search engines like Google, Yahoo, and Bing.

Link building can increase the number of high-quality links pointing to a site, in turn increasing the likelihood of the website ranking highly in search engine results. Link building is also a proven marketing tactic for increasing brand awareness.[Wikipedia]

Remember. “A backlink or inbound link is like a vote for your website/blog. If you have good content, others in your subject matter will automatically quote your content and add a link to your site giving you credit.”

Benefits of Link Building!

Link building is an important part of SEO. Link building is the process of building inbound links to your websites. Here I am going to share why It’s Important for our website/blog?

As you know Google updating its Penguin Algorithm regularly which changed everything about. So in today’s Link building is a process of getting links from relevant authority sites and quality sites.

  1. The more inbound links, the higher the SE ranking
  2. If the site linking to you is already indexed, spiders will also receive your site
  3. Helps you to receive traffic from other websites linked to you.
  4. The high-quality incoming link means your site will be admired as a valuable resource. This could be easily done by writing quality content.

ALWAYS REMEMBER – “A small number of inbound links from high-quality, relevant sites is more valuable than many links from low-traffic, irrelevant sites.”

  1. Writing Impressive content
  2. Guest blogging
  3. Infographics
  4. Directory Submission

Here are his answers:

1. What is Importance of Link Building Today as far as you’re Concerned?

Answer: Backlinks are still the most important thing to increase the search ranking of your blog or website. Just the way of doing has been changed in recent years.
If you are targeting competitive keywords, you must have to build a few good links after you are done with the on page optimization.
I still believe in link building and link earning because without having backlinks your blog/website cannot stand out in the competition.

2. Which is your Favorite Link Building Strategies?

Answer: Though I believe in getting backlinks for my blog I mostly concerned to earn links rather than building them because that looks more natural. When it comes to link building, I would suggest you check out this post of mine where I have shared a few strategies that are working in 2015.

3. What do things need to keep in mind before Competitors website Analysis?

Answer: Competitor analysis is crucial when it comes to SEO and marketing. Thus, you have to make sure that you don’t miss the important things to check. Here are a few things I won’t like to miss:
  1. On page status of the website. [You may use Woorank tool to get the data quickly. However, manual review is must.]
  2. Backlink Profile of the website. [Ahrefs, MajesticSEO tools are good for this purpose
  3. Overall site structure and content.]
  4. Finding their targeted keywords and their ranking in Google.
These are a few things that should not be missed in my opinion when you are all set to competitor’s website analysis. Further, you can consider many other factors too depending upon your requirement and strategies.

4. Which is your favorite SEO tools?

  1. Ahrefs.com
  2.  MajesticSEO
  3. Woorank
  4. SEranking
  5. Long Tail Pro
  6. Google Keyword Planner

5. Share some OFFPAGE link building technique that still exists

Answer: I think you should go back to #2 question of yours because the answer will be the same here too. Still, let me know put a summary here:
  1. Infographic Submissions
  2. Guest blogging
  3. Broken Link Building
  4. Blogger outreach
  5. Create awesome content that other would love to link to you

Here are his answers:

1. What is Importance of Link Building Today as far as you’re Concerned?

Answer: For me, link building is an online currency that can make you or break you. The new name for “Link Building” must be “PR” and “Publicity.” You’ll naturally get more back links if you get more exposure.

2. Which is your Favorite Link Building Strategy?

Answer: I don’t have any strategy for link building. I get links naturally, and that is how it should be.
To answer your question: My interviews, guest posts, and infographics help me to gain back links for my blog.

3. What does thing need to keep in mind before Competitors website Analysis?

Answer: To be honest, I’ve never done this before. So I might not be the best person to answer this question. But if I ever analyze my competitor’s website, the following will be the steps:
  1. Find out who your competitors are.
  2. Find best keywords and their density.
  3. Check backlinks and social media success.

4. What is your favorite SEO tools?

Answer: I don’t use anything except these two:
  1. Google keyword planner.
  2.  Google Analytics.

5. Share some OFFPAGE link building technique that still exists.

Answer: For off-page SEO I mostly rely on “social media” and “Discussion Forums”. And occasionally I reach out to bloggers and ask them to share my content by re-purposing it on their blogs or social platforms. That is a smart strategy which people hardly employ.

~ ADEEL SAMI

Here are his answers:

1. What is Importance of Link Building Today as far as you’re Concerned?

Answer: Link building should be renamed to relationship building. With a relationship, you make a lot of effort to come in front of the person you are targeting for. So the same has to be done with link building. Keep your efforts going.
Getting a straightforward link from someone and not initiating the relationship won’t work in this smarter world of today.

2. Which is your Favorite Link Building Strategy?

>> I break it into 6 points:

  1. Commenting on the do-follow blogs/websites and for that, CommentLuv-enabled blogs are good.
  2. Write striking content that people from your industry do link to them.
  3. Reciprocate. One who comes to your blog, you must go there and comment on their posts. This enables the phase of a long-lasting relationship.
  4.  Guest posting on relevant blogs.
  5.  Interview related persons, invite them on your podcast (if you have), introduce them to your audience, and anything possible you can think of. It enables to win the social boost for yourself as well as get higher chances of being linked on their blogs/websites. With it, you venture into the bigger side of the blogging.
  6. Anything possible you think to boost the relationship building.

3. What does thing need to keep in mind before Competitors website Analysis?

Answer: Streamline what’s working for your competitors by studying their website first, going into posts, their social counts and number of comments.
Also by going into checking the commenters whether they are related or not, you may also reach to their websites (if allowed by the website they are commenting on). It is to study what type of audience they have, their industry and the level of success they are at.
To follow a process, I say:
  1. Check their search engine’s performance.
  2. Check their domain authority (DA) and page Authority (PA) to examine their popularity on the web and for individual links on their website.
  3. Check their online rankings. Alexa was good but not so good than similarweb.com, SEMRush.com, and compete.com
  4. Examine their social performance following their social accounts on different social networks.

4. Which is your favorite SEO tools?

Answer: None other than Yoast SEO (WordPress plugin) .. 🙂

5. Share some OFFPAGE link building technique that still exists.

Answer:
  1. Blog commenting and blog commenting.
  2. Guest posting.
  3. Networking and relationship building with related folks from the industry.
  4. Social support to the folks from the industry.
  5. And above on all, follow a niche and be a master of it. The links will generate for you without your knowledge.

Hey Saurabh,

This was a great discussion. If anything I would say I agree with Adeel.

Why?

Because that's the model I follow and it's working great for me. In fact blog commenting helped me get over the 1000 visitors/month hump.

I usually concentrate on blogs that have the Commentluv premium plugin, but above all my main goal is reciprocation. I do this through commenting and doing mentions.

Thanks for sharing the first series for Link Building! Have a good one!
